Potter
County’s Veterans Services Committee announces that businesses and others are
running out of time to sign up for the Potter County Veterans Discount Program.
About two dozen businesses have joined the program. They've agreed to offer
discounts -- typically 10 percent or more -- to Potter County veterans and will
have their business name and address, along with the particulars of their
discount offer, included in a brochure that each qualifying veteran will
receive upon registration. Businesses wishing to sign up or learn more about
the program should call 814-274-8290, extension 207, or send email to
dwooster@pottercountypa.net.
Veterans
who wish to take advantage of the program will obtain a Veterans Discount
Program identification card from the Potter County Office of Veterans Affairs
in the F. W. Gunzburger County Office Building. Signup dates for veterans will be
announced in the coming days. Members of the Veterans Service Committee include
Veterans Affairs Director Will Worthington, Commissioner Paul Heimel, and
Executive Secretary Dawn Wooster.
